Winter in the Bonaiga pass
Winter views from the southern slope of the Port de la Bonaigua.
Like all the great pass of the Pyrenees, due to its altitude( 2.072m / 6797f for Bonaigua pass), the port of La Bonaigua is usually covered with snow for several months of the year, being closed to traffic even in heavy snow. The animals and plants that inhabit these areas are adapted to these winter climatic conditions.
