The red-legged partridge is very skilled on the ground.


The red-legged partridge (Alectoris rufa) is a bird belonging to the order of the galliformes, it can reach a weight of 450gr. It inhabits the clear forests and scrub areas of the Montserrat massif and its surroundings. She also frequently visits farm fields, where it is easy to see herself feeding or taking earth baths (to clean her plumage). It is a bird adapted to terrestrial life, thanks to its strong legs it can run in a fast and agile way. They feed on seeds, grass shoots, berries, and small insects.
